Butcher Power Products has joined the California Manufacturers & Technology Association (CMTA), according to an announcement from the organization. The Sacramento-based company produces utility-grade switchboards, switchgear, and power distribution equipment for mission-critical environments. Its products are used in transportation, industrial, and energy markets.

The company has experienced rapid growth, expanding its operations from a 6,000 square-foot facility to over 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space in less than two years.

“Butcher Power Products’ impressive growth reflects the strength and impact of manufacturing in California,” said Lance Hastings, President & CEO of CMTA. “Their technical capabilities and commitment to high-quality production demonstrate exactly why our state’s manufacturing industry remains so vital to the economy. I am thrilled to welcome them to CMTA and look forward to working together.”

Kyle Kuperus, Community & Compliance Manager at Butcher Power Products, stated: “Butcher Power Products is proud to join CMTA and stand alongside so many of California’s leading manufacturers. Participating in the 2025 Coolest Thing Made in California contest gave us a firsthand look at the strength and innovation of the state’s manufacturing network, and we’re excited to stay engaged with CMTA as we advance California’s industry.”

The addition of Butcher Power Products broadens CMTA’s representation across key segments of California’s manufacturing sector. The company emphasizes advanced operations, rigorous quality standards, and serves both domestic and international markets.

CMTA has represented manufacturers before lawmakers and regulatory agencies since 1918. Manufacturing contributes $300 billion annually to California’s economy—about 10 percent of total output—and employs 1.3 million people statewide with wages higher than those paid by other non-farm employers.

Butcher Power Products specializes in low- and medium-voltage switchboards and switchgear designed for demanding uptime requirements and compliance standards.
