Twenty-eight new films have been selected to receive support through California’s expanded Film & Television Tax Credit Program, Governor Gavin Newsom announced. The projects include a film directed by Academy Award winner Ang Lee and a biopic produced by Snoop Dogg.

These productions are expected to generate $562 million in economic activity across the state, according to officials. The tax credit program aims to promote local job creation and support the state’s creative industry.

Governor Newsom said, “Lights, camera, action! Governor Newsom announces 28 new films coming to California, set to boost local economies.”

The initiative highlights California’s ongoing efforts to attract major film projects and maintain its reputation as a center for entertainment production.
