The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has announced that its next Voting Meeting will take place on August 14, 2025, at 11 a.m. The meeting is open to the public both in person and remotely, allowing Californians to participate in discussions about essential services such as energy, water, communications, and transportation.

The CPUC’s Voting Meetings serve as a platform for making decisions that impact all residents of California. Each session begins with an opportunity for public comment. Community members are encouraged to attend or call in to share their perspectives.

The agenda for the upcoming meeting includes several important items. Among them is a proposal to start a new rulemaking process related to interconnection rules (Item 39). This initiative aims to refine how distributed energy resources are connected to the grid, with goals of improving safety, reliability, transparency, and cost efficiency as clean energy technologies continue to advance.

Meeting materials—including the agenda, presentations, information on items postponed for future meetings, and details for remote participation—are available on the CPUC website.

The meeting will be held at the CalEPA Coastal Hearing Room at 1001 I St., Sacramento. Those unable to attend in person can access the proceedings by webcast or phone.

“Your input matters. We encourage everyone to participate and stay engaged in the decision-making process,” states the CPUC announcement.
