California set to host wide range of summer festivals and events statewide

California is preparing for a busy July with events across the state that highlight its cultural diversity and seasonal attractions. The month starts with Independence Day celebrations and continues with festivals, fairs, music events, and other gatherings in Northern, Central, and Southern California.

In Northern California, Napa Valley offers the Afternoon Tea & Chandon Train excursion on weekends through November 16. San Francisco’s Union Square will host the Pikmin Bloom Mini-Walk from July 4–6, where visitors can participate in an interactive game inspired by Nintendo Switch’s Pikmin series. Yolo County’s Park Winters estate provides a pick-your-own-bouquet experience on weekends through October 12.

Willits Frontier Days returns to Mendocino County from July 3–5 as one of California’s oldest rodeos. The High Sierra Music Festival in Quincy takes place July 3–6, featuring Grammy winner Molly Tuttle among others. Fort Bragg hosts The World’s Largest Salmon BBQ on July 5 to raise funds for local salmon population restoration efforts.

Festival Napa Valley runs from July 5–20 with concerts and culinary events at various wineries and venues. Filoli in Woodside extends its hours for Summer Nights throughout the month, while Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk presents Evenings on the Colonnade until August 7.

Sacramento welcomes back the California State Fair from July 11–27, offering livestock shows, craft exhibits, cooking demonstrations, a brewfest, and musical performances by En Vogue and Ludacris. Willow Creek celebrates Bigfoot Daze on July 12; San Jose observes Obon Festival that same day; Palisades Tahoe holds The Tevis Cup endurance ride; Petaluma features its Art & Garden Festival on July 13; Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys launches its summer concert series beginning July 18; Bear Valley Music Festival opens the same day; Rivertown Revival takes place in Petaluma from July 18–19; McCloud hosts Lumberjack Fiesta Days from July 25–27; Half Moon Bay offers Farms, Fish & Flowers tours on July 26; Guerneville’s Lazy Bear Week runs from late July into early August.

Central California spotlights include MotoAmerica Superbike SpeedFest at Laguna Seca (July 11–13), Santa Rita Hills Lavender Festival in Lompoc (July 12), California Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles (July 16–27), and Gilroy Garlic Festival (July 25–27).

Southern California features the return of Laguna Beach’s Festival of Arts Pageant of the Masters starting July 2 and Los Angeles’ Griffith Park Free Shakespeare Festival throughout the month. Carlsbad’s Omni La Costa celebrates Legacy Weekend (July 11–13); Temecula debuts Pechanga’s Whiskey and Wings Festival (July 12); Palm Springs’ Agua Caliente Cultural Museum holds Summer Sundays for families (July 13); San Diego Pride runs from July 16-20 including a parade and festival at Balboa Park.

The Del Mar Racetrack opens its season on July 18. Comic-Con International returns to San Diego downtown from July 24-27—a major draw for fans despite sold-out badges—and Long Beach hosts its Dragon Boat Festival on July 26. Huntington Beach presents Lexus U.S. Open of Surfing beginning late in the month followed by Redondo Beach’s International Surf Festival starting at month end.

These events provide options for locals and visitors seeking live entertainment or community engagement during peak summer months across all regions of California.
