The U.S. Census Bureau announced on April 9 that it has released a downloadable file with estimates of the nation’s resident population by single year of age and sex as of July 1, 2025.

These new data provide an updated look at the demographic makeup of the United States, which is important for policymakers, researchers, and organizations planning for future needs.

According to the Census Bureau, more detailed information will be released in the coming months. This includes housing unit estimates for the nation, states, and counties as well as population estimates for cities and towns. The agency also plans to publish additional data sets that will include breakdowns by age, sex, race, and Hispanic origin for various geographic areas such as metropolitan and micropolitan statistical areas and counties. Population estimates by age and sex will also be made available for Puerto Rico Commonwealth and its municipios.

There was no formal news release associated with this product; instead, a tip sheet was provided to inform users about the availability of these new statistics.

The Census Bureau said it remains committed to providing timely demographic data to help inform decisions across many sectors.
