For the fifth consecutive year, the IAM Local 1746 Women’s Committee and the IAM Union Eastern Territory have worked with East Hartford Public School in Connecticut to support a backpack rally event. The groups collected donations, packed backpacks, and took part as a vendor during distribution day. Volunteers from IAM Union Local 1746 and the IAM Union Eastern Territory distributed thousands of pencils, pens, rulers, activity books, stickers, and other supplies at the event.
“IAM Local 1746 is proud to continue our partnership with East Hartford Public School to help local children prepare for the new school year,” said an IAM Local 1746 representative. “Our volunteers are committed to supporting students and families in our community.”
The effort is part of an ongoing initiative by union members to assist families in East Hartford ahead of each school year.
