The International Labor Communications Association (ILCA) will hold its biennial convention in New Orleans from November 18 to 20, 2025. The event is set to include community service activities, networking receptions, the ILCA awards ceremony, and a range of panels and workshops centered around a yet-to-be-announced theme. The ILCA provides support for labor communicators across North America and operates as an allied organization of the AFL-CIO.
IAM Union Assistant Communications Director DeLane Adams serves as the Secretary-Treasurer for ILCA.
Members of the IAM Communications Department have been recognized at previous ILCA Labor Media Awards Contests, which are described as the largest and longest-running competitions dedicated to labor communications in North America. These contests aim to highlight high standards in journalism within the field.
This year’s IAM Union winners include Angela Colaizzi, who received the Max Steinbock Award for “NLRB Takes Down Union Buster.” Ashley Mumford and the IAM Journal Team secured third place for Best Print Publication with their Summer 2023 issue of IAM Journal. Ross Olson was awarded third place for Best Design – Single Issue Publication.
Past conventions have served as opportunities for labor communication professionals to exchange best practices with peers from across North America.
Registration is open for those interested in attending the ILCA Convention, and membership is not required to participate.
