Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) is taking steps to ensure reliable energy service during Super Bowl LX, which will take place on February 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. The company has been preparing since September to support the main event and related festivities across the Bay Area.

Levi’s Stadium’s primary electric provider is Silicon Valley Power (SVP), but PG&E supports SVP by delivering transmission service to the stadium’s substation. In other parts of the Bay Area, PG&E has worked with local government and public safety agencies to prepare for Super Bowl-related events.

“This week is about more than football. It’s about the communities we serve every day. PG&E is committed to helping keep the Bay Area running safely and reliably so customers, visitors and local businesses can enjoy the celebrations with confidence,” said Vincent Davis, Chief Customer Officer and Senior Vice President, Customer Experience.

PG&E has collaborated with the Super Bowl 60 Bay Area Host Committee (BAHC), the National Football League (NFL), and law enforcement agencies in San Francisco, the East Bay, and South Bay. These efforts are intended to ensure readiness for both residents and visitors before, during, and after the game.

“This level of coordination demonstrates how all teams are coming together as one to build resilience into the system and deliver a seamless experience for our hometowns during this high-profile event,” said Angie Gibson, PG&E Vice President of Emergency Preparedness & Response.

To manage any incidents that may arise, PG&E has activated its system-wide Emergency Operations Center as well as local emergency-response centers in San Francisco and San Jose. Additional crews will be available on Super Bowl Sunday.

During Super Bowl week, PG&E will also participate in community events through partnerships with BAHC, San Jose Sports Authority, NFL, civic groups, and nonprofits. These activities include support for events such as Super Bowl Breakfast, Taste of NFL, volunteer projects in East Palo Alto, youth outreach programs in Oakland and San Francisco, innovation summits, community celebrations, and watch parties throughout the region.

The last time a Super Bowl was held in the Bay Area was ten years ago when Denver Broncos defeated Carolina Panthers at Super Bowl L. At that time, PG&E served as official Clean Energy Partner for the event.

Pacific Gas and Electric Company serves over 16 million people across Northern and Central California. More information about their services can be found at pge.com and pge.com/news.
