Snap Inc. has announced that its Imagine Lens feature, previously available only to Lens+ and Snapchat Platinum subscribers, is now accessible to all Snapchat users in the United States without a subscription. The company also plans to expand access to additional international markets, starting with Canada, Great Britain, and Australia.

The Imagine Lens allows users to generate images by typing prompts directly into the Snapchat camera interface. This tool leverages artificial intelligence to turn user ideas into shareable visual content. According to Snap Inc., Lenses are used more than 8 billion times each day by Snapchatters who use them for entertainment and self-expression.

“With the Imagine Lens, your creativity is the only limit. Just type in your idea, watch it come to life, and share your creation with friends, your Story, or even beyond Snapchat,” Snap stated in its announcement.

To encourage experimentation with this new tool, Snap is providing users with a limited number of free image generations.

The company emphasized responsible use of AI-generated content: “We love how AI unlocks amazing creativity—so keep it fun, stay transparent, and share responsibly when you use or post AI-edited or generated content.”
