Snapchat has reported significant growth in India’s creator ecosystem, citing increased content engagement and a growing number of Snap Stars, who are among the platform’s leading creators. The announcement was made as part of Snapchat Creator Connect, a multi-city initiative aimed at supporting Gen Z storytellers. Delhi was the most recent location for this event, highlighting the importance of North Indian creators to Snapchat’s expansion in the country.

On September 26th, Snapchat hosted Creator Connect in Delhi. The event brought together prominent creators, Snap Stars, and industry stakeholders. Attendees participated in Snap School, an education and mentorship program designed to help creators improve their storytelling skills and grow on the platform. The sessions also covered monetization opportunities through global revenue share and rewards programs and explored AR innovations that can help creators connect more deeply with their audiences.

Bollywood and Punjabi cinema actors Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa took part in a fireside chat during the event, discussing aspects of their personal lives, upcoming film projects, and their reasons for choosing Snapchat as their preferred platform to share daily moments with fans.

The audience showed strong interest in demonstrations of the fifth-generation Spectacles AR glasses. Features such as real-time Lenses and Spectator Mode were showcased, highlighting integration with mobile devices.

Snapchat distinguishes itself from other platforms by focusing on vertical-first stories and AR-powered creativity rather than traditional formats. This approach appeals particularly to younger users in India. Creators are experimenting with features like Lenses during festivals and producing short-form videos tailored for vertical viewing.

In terms of brand partnerships, Snapchat collaborates with major advertisers across several sectors including fashion, beauty products, e-commerce, and consumer technology. Companies such as Myntra, Flipkart, L’Oreal, Unilever, and Reckitt have worked with Snap Stars to engage Gen Z consumers through influencer marketing campaigns. Brands benefit from tools like Creator & Content Discovery on Snap Ads Manager to find suitable creators for campaigns.

Snapchat has established a network of creator agencies throughout India—not only in Delhi and Mumbai but also cities like Hyderabad, Chennai, and Kolkata—supporting brands’ efforts to connect with top local talent.

Athletes are also using Snapchat to reach young audiences. Cricketers Abhishek Sharma, Arshdeep Singh, Washington Sundar, Rishabh Pant—and Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra—are sharing everyday experiences on the platform while encouraging followers to embrace sports culture.
