Snap Inc. has announced the launch of the Imagine Lens, a new feature that allows users to create and modify images by entering their own prompts. The tool is described as an Open Prompt Image Generation Lens, enabling Snapchatters to generate, edit, and recreate Snaps which can then be shared with friends or posted on their Story.

According to Snap Inc., hundreds of millions of people use Lenses daily on Snapchat to explore and express themselves. The company reports that over 400 million users have interacted with Gen AI Lenses more than four billion times.

The Imagine Lens will be available exclusively to subscribers of Lens+ and Snapchat+ Platinum. Snap Inc. says this release “unlocks even more creativity for our community with the latest in AI innovation.”

“With the Imagine Lens, Snapchatters can create, edit, and recreate Snaps simply by entering their own prompts, then seamlessly share them with friends, post to their Story, or outside of Snapchat,” according to the company’s statement.
