Snap Inc. has announced new storage options for its Memories feature on Snapchat, addressing the needs of users who have accumulated more than 5GB of saved content. Since its introduction in 2016, Snapchatters have collectively stored over one trillion Memories.

The company explained that most users will not see any changes, as they have less than 5GB of Memories saved. However, those with more than 5GB now have access to expanded storage plans. The new offerings include 100GB and 250GB tiers available through Snapchat+, as well as a larger 5TB option offered via Snapchat Platinum.

“We want to make sure that our community can continue to store all of their Memories over the long term, so we are introducing new Memories Storage Plans to support Snapchatters with more than 5GB of Memories,” the company stated.

For users who exceed the standard limit, Snap Inc. will provide a temporary storage period: “We’ll provide 12 months of temporary Memories storage for any Memories that exceed the 5GB storage limit.” Users can upgrade their plan at any time or download their data directly to their devices.
