Snapchat has reported that its monthly active user base in India has exceeded 250 million. The company attributes this growth to its engagement with young users across the country, positioning India as a key market for Snapchat’s global expansion.

The platform is focusing on creating culturally relevant experiences tailored to Indian audiences. This includes local content initiatives, partnerships, and an emphasis on regional creators using features like Spotlight and Stories.

Looking forward, Snap aims to build a sustainable business in India by growing its community, building trust with advertisers through demonstrated business value, supporting storytelling through its platform features, and encouraging development within the augmented reality (AR) ecosystem.

“Snapchat announced its community in India has surged to over 250 million monthly active users (MAU), marking a significant milestone. This growth highlights Snapchat’s strong connection with young users nationwide, making India a leading global growth market for the platform.”

“The India digital opportunity is massive, and Snapchat India is strategically poised to capitalise on this growing opportunity by bringing culturally relevant experiences to Indian audiences through local content initiatives, partnerships, and maintaining a dedicated focus on regional creators through Spotlight and Stories.”

“Looking ahead, Snap’s vision in India is to build a sustainable business by growing and nurturing its community, strengthening trust with advertisers by delivering business value, supporting vibrant storytelling via Spotlight and Stories, and fostering a thriving AR developer ecosystem.”
