The California Manufacturers & Technology Association (CMTA) has announced that Torani, a well-known flavor company, has joined its membership. Torani, established in 1925 and headquartered in San Leandro, is recognized for its syrups and sauces. The company’s facilities now cover more than 600,000 square feet.
“We are thrilled to welcome Torani to CMTA,” said Lance Hastings, President & CEO of CMTA. “Torani is an iconic California brand that exemplifies the innovation, quality, and commitment to growth that define our state’s manufacturing community. We look forward to working with them to foster growth and opportunity for manufacturers across the state.”
Torani began with five syrup flavors and now offers over 150 products sold worldwide. The company emphasizes both product quality and opportunities for advancement within its workforce.
“As a 100-year-old California company that makes things, we know how much good manufacturing jobs matter to our communities,” said Melanie Dulbecco, CEO of Torani. “We’re excited to join others who share that same passion and commitment.”
Torani employs more than 400 people at its San Leandro site and reports it has never had layoffs during its century-long history.
CMTA represents manufacturers throughout California by advocating for policies before the state legislature and administrative agencies. Manufacturing contributes $300 billion annually to California’s economy—about ten percent of the state’s total economic output—and provides jobs for approximately 1.3 million Californians with wages higher than those in other non-farm sectors.
Torani describes itself as a Bay Area business focused on flavor innovation and community opportunity. The company is also a certified B Corp committed to supporting people, partners, and local communities.
