The U.S. Census Bureau has released the 2023 Business Dynamics Statistics (BDS), providing updated data on business activity in the United States. The statistics include information on job creation and destruction, establishment births and deaths, and firm startups and shutdowns. The BDS series covers annual data from 1978 through 2023.

Users can access the new data through the BDS website, the Census API, or by using BDS Explorer, an interactive tool that enables users to visualize business dynamics through various charts and maps. The dashboard feature of BDS Explorer allows for easy comparison and organization of key business measures.
