Visit California has released its 2025 California Road Trips Guide, offering readers a collection of first-person travel stories and itineraries throughout the state. The guide includes nine routes designed for a range of interests, from accessible trails in Yosemite to luxury accommodations in Mendocino.

An exclusive interview with actress Kristen Bell is featured in this edition. Bell shares her experiences road-tripping across California, describing it as “what you make of it”—a place where travelers can find both urban excitement and peaceful desert settings. She highlights favorite destinations such as El Capitan State Beach, Glamis, and Calistoga’s hot springs and mud baths. According to Bell, these locations offer unique opportunities for family trips and relaxation.

The guide also presents diverse perspectives from several contributors. Cory Lee of Curb Free with Cory Lee discusses accessible travel options in San Francisco, Napa Valley, Tuolumne County, and Yosemite National Park. Jeremy Austin provides recommendations for luxury travel along the coast through Carmel, Monterey, and Mendocino. Anthony and Marlie Love explore Black history in Gold Country regions like Sacramento, El Dorado, and Calaveras County. Photographer Harish Kumar showcases the landscapes of Shasta Cascade and North Coast areas through his images.

Ann Marie Brown contributes advice on visiting all nine national parks in California for those interested in outdoor activities. Additional themed itineraries include a taco-focused journey from Los Angeles County through the Central Valley, a theme park tour across Southern California suitable for families, an artistic take on Route 66, and suggestions for winter trips to Lake Tahoe and Mammoth Lakes.

Readers can access the full itineraries by downloading the digital version or ordering a free printed copy of the 2025 California Road Trips Guide to be delivered to their homes.

“California is what you make of it,” said Kristen Bell in her interview included in the guide. “You can find everything from bustling city life to tranquil desert landscapes.”
